See how accessible your destination really is, business by business.
AccessA gives regional and state tourism organisations, and the councils they work with, a live, evidence-based picture of accessibility across their operators, so you can plan, invest and report with confidence.
The question every
destination gets asked
How accessible is our region? It sounds simple. Most destinations can't answer it with confidence.
Travellers with accessible needs spent AU$29.2 billion in Australia in 2024 and took more than one in five of all trips. Yet the information about accessibility is scattered, and without a clear picture it's hard to target support, make the case for funding, or tell visitors honestly what to expect.
"If we can measure it, we can improve it. Together, and for everyone."

One-off audits go out of date
A report commissioned once is a snapshot. By the time it's read, businesses have changed, and nobody can tell what's still true.
Listings rely on self-description
Operators describe their own accessibility, in their own words, with no common standard and no evidence behind it.
Nobody sees the whole region at once
Information sits with individual businesses and councils. There's no single view of where the strengths and gaps are.
Progress can't be tracked
Without a consistent baseline, you can't show what your programs and investment have changed, or where to go next.
Everything you need to lead your
destination's accessibility journey
The Destination Portal turns individual operator assessments into regional intelligence. Every figure traces back to real businesses, assessed against the same Standard.
Business Landscape Intelligence
See every assessed business in your destination in a single view, each at its maturity level and mapped across your region. Filter by council, domain and maturity level to find exactly who needs what.
Gap Analysis & Investment Targeting
AccessA aggregates individual assessment data into destination-level gap analysis, showing you which of the 12 domains are weakest across your portfolio, and which councils and business segments are most underserved.
Program Design & Impact Measurement
Use AccessA data to design programs with confidence, then measure their impact over time. Track before-and-after maturity, demonstrate ROI to partners, and build a compelling evidence base for future investment.

Always current.
Never a static snapshot.
As operator assessments are reviewed and approved, your portal fills in, from council level to the whole region. You always have a current picture of your destination's access maturity, not a report from two years ago.

Real assessments,
not guesswork
A regional figure is only as good as the data underneath it. AccessA's is built to hold up when someone asks how you know.
One Standard for everyone
Every operator is assessed against the AccessA Standard: 73 criteria across 12 domains of the accessibility and inclusion spectrum, following the visitor journey from planning a trip to the visit itself and beyond.
Fair to every type of business
The assessment adapts to each operator's business type, so a cafe isn't marked down for not having hotel rooms.
Evidence, then review
Operators back their answers with photos and documents. An AccessA reviewer checks every assessment, supported by AI-powered analysis and an automated website check.
Honest numbers
No regional figure is shown until at least three operators are assessed. Regions with no assessed operators are never ranked or averaged, and "nothing in place" is always kept separate from "not yet assessed".
Australian data
All assessment data is hosted and processed in Australia.

Frequently asked questions
Do our operators need to pay?
That depends on the partnership we agree with you. Talk to us about the options.
How many operators do we need before we see results?
Regional figures appear once at least three operators are assessed. Individual operator results show as soon as each assessment is approved.
Is this an audit?
No. Operators assess themselves with evidence, and an AccessA reviewer checks every assessment. The result is a maturity level, designed to show progress rather than pass or fail.
Can we see individual businesses?
Yes. Your portal lists every participating operator in your region with its maturity in each domain.
Does it work for our region's boundaries?
Operators are placed by council, and each council belongs to a regional tourism organisation, using lists sourced from each state tourism body. Where a council sits between two organisations, we work it through with both.
Can we set our own targets?
Yes. Strategic Objectives lets you set targets from your strategy or action plan, review them on your own schedule and keep a record of every change.
Where is the data kept?
In Australia. All assessment data is hosted and processed in Australia.
